George Bush: Soft On Terror. September 11th was a massive failure of this country's intelligence, immigration, and law enforcement capabilities. Over 3,000 people are dead... [OliverWillis.com]
Bush made big headlines in September when he bowed to the pressure of the families and allowed that maybe a conference wouldn't be so bad. Now, when people aren't watching any more, he backtracks. Seems he doesn't want the panel to have too many Dems on it. Really, he doesn't want a panel at all.

Carter Wins Nobel
Jimmy Carter Wins Nobel Peace Prize. Former President Carter won the prize today for his efforts to find peaceful solutions to international conflicts. By The Associated Press. [New York Times: NYT HomePage]
It was a slap in the face to him when Begin and Sadat won for their peace agreement when it was very skillfully brokered by Carter; he should have been in on that one. This is really a well-deserved slap in the face at our current war-mongering president.
