Dalai Lama Says Terror May Need a Violent Reply. "The Dalai Lama, a winner of the Nobel Peace Prize and one of the world's most prominent advocates of nonviolence, said in an interview yesterday that it might be necessary to fight terrorists with violence, and that it was 'too early to say' whether the war in Iraq was a mistake. 'I feel only history will tell,' he said. 'Terrorism is the worst kind of violence, so we have to check it, we have to take countermeasures.'" Parody or Prophecy?. From The Onion: Revised Patriot Act Will Make It Illegal To Read Patriot Act WASHINGTON, DC—President Bush spoke out Monday in support of a revised version of the 2001 USA Patriot Act that would make it illegal to read the USA Patriot Act. "Under current federal law, there are unreasonable obstacles to investigating and prosecuting acts of terrorism, including the public's access to information about how the federal police will investigate and prosecute acts of terrorism," Bush said at a press conference Monday. "For the sake of the American people, I call on Congress to pass this important law prohibiting access to itself." Accountability? We don't need no stinkin' accountability!. Where is our money going? According to the Congressional Budget Office, not only is the Bush administration asking for 87 billion dollars to cover Iraqi reconstruction, but they're also unable to account for 2.5 billion of the 4 billion dollars that they're spending per month in Iraq.
