Gipperporn: Unreal Quote. We got the transcript of Chris Matthews's take on Ronald Reagan's legacy. We quoted Matthews as saying: "He seemed understand the experience of the Greatest Generation better than the guys who were actually in battle could." What he actually said... [Wonkette]

Moral equivalency.
"He who fights with monsters should look to it that he himself does not
become a monster." -- Friedrich Nietzche in "Beyond Good and Evil." [slacktivist]
The Slacktivist writes a nice essay
about the moral relativism that's operating in this country. We may be
the "good guys," and I'm willing to grant we are. But being the "good
guys" doesn't mean we can do bad things. If you do bad things --
torture, break your word, lie -- you become a "bad guy." Oh, you might
not be as bad as some other guys are, but you're no longer a good guy.
It's not what you say about why you are doing certain things that make
you the good guy; it's the things you do.

"The Lord gave us everything we need in the Garden of Eden: fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds. That's why we call the way we eat the 'Hallelujah Diet.' We celebrate its true creator."

God Hates Figs
God surely hates the figs:
ng a fig tree afar off having
leaves, he came, if perhaps he might find any thing on it: and when he
came to it, he found nothing but leaves; for the time of figs was not
yet.
"And Jesus answered and said to it, No man eat fruit of you hereafter forever. And his disciples heard it.

From the Boston Globe: "After three days of suspended political activity, the Bush campaign began openly incorporating Ronald Reagan's death into its reelection message yesterday, revamping its website to give Reagan a dominant role and distributing official campaign letters that...
