Japanese Leader to Dissolve Parliament [AP World News]
Japanese lawmakers rejected legislation to split up and sell the nation's postal service Monday, leading Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi to call snap elections next month. He promised to make the vote a referendum on his reform plan and pledged to resign if it fails.
It's hard to say which side to cheer for in this. It would be nice to see socialism's stranglehold on Japan loosen, but on the other hand it would also be nice to see Koizumi (who has violated the Japanese constitution by contributing troops to the Evil Empire) out of office.
