A Neocon in China. Teaching Political Theory in Beijing by Daniel A. Bell has some of the expected problems, but it is still a fascinating look at academic freedom in "Communist" China.... By Lew Rockwell. [LewRockwell.com Blog]
One of the most interesting parts of the article was the revelation that the Chinese students were unanimously opposed to intervention, while the professor was trying to change their minds. Hopefully he didn't succeed.

I finally got around to cancelling my telephone service. I've been thinking of doing so for a while, as I had already stopped using it in favor of Skype. The combination of AT&T taking over my phone service and the news about them collaborating with the NSA finally motivated me to do it.
The lady I spoke to asked why I was cancelling my service, and was shocked and upset when I told her about the wiretapping. Apparently it's not widely known among people who don't get their news from the Internet.
