Tower City unplugs Cleveland Tri-C JazzFest band for political T-shirts [GEN-ERIC Music News]
There are several other posts on the site about this incident. There's a lot of talk about the manager infringing on the band's First Amendment rights, but none of the posts mention who owns the venue. A quick Google search turned up a website for the Tower City Center--and as private property, the First Amendment is irrelevant.
Of course, just as the venue has the right to shut down a performance on private property, people in Cleveland have the right to boycott the venue. Anyone doing so should be sure to contact the venue owners explaining why they are taking their business elsewhere.
