AOL's Netscape sues Microsoft. Netscape, a division of AOL Time Warner, files suit against Microsoft, claiming that the software giant's business practices have harmed it. [CNET News.com] Yeah, glad to see this! I worked for Netscape when they hit the wall. While Microsoft certainly wasn't the only cause, they definitely hurt the company in some very serious ways. We heard about all kinds of nastyness that cost Netscape deals, sometimes even deals that were already bought and paid for. There is one irony in this though, AOL also did a pretty fair amount of damage to Netscape. This involved the deal to bundle Netscape with AOL. The day after the Netscape deal was announced, AOL announces that IE would be the default browser. That was a massive slap in the face to Netscape and did very serious damage. 4:17:10 PM     Most interesting event of the day, waking up to a neighborhood full of smoke from a fire a couple blocks away. Don't know if it was a house or not, hopefully not. 1:43:31 PM     Wow what a slow news day, just finished reading the news and not a thing worth posting, commenting on or even disagreeing with.
