Shhh. Don't tell Kimbro I changed the theme (in all of three minutes!). Man, I love this Radio stuff. (you can still see the css version here) [Trichotomy]

Heh, heh, sorry Clark didn't mean for you to change your site. Of course it is nice to be able to read it again. I'm just too hooked on the rendering quality of Omniweb (well other then CSS that is) to go back to IE or Mozilla.

Clark also says, "So far I've turned an anesthesiology department with zero macs to one with a wireless LAN and five OS X portables.". Right on!

AppleScript Primer for Mac OS X. [Meerkat: An Open Wire Service]

Applescript has been one of the really nice surprises in Mac OS X. Coming from working mostly with Linux for the last couple years it was really cool to see how powerfully you can glue GUI applications together. The really cool thing is that I don't even think Apple has scratched the surface on the power that is available here. Applescript Studio is cool, but there's still a lot more untapped power lurking under the surface.

Of course they also haven't begun to tap into the fun security problems that could be opened up either.

Woah, Radio has some strange bugs. In my comments about CSS I included a screen shot that was upstreamed by Radio to my server. This is what it looks like after upstreaming, this is what it is supposed to look like. That is very weird. The only difference is that one was copied by Radio to a WebDAV mount and one was copied from the command line via the same mount. Upstreaming the image again resulted in the same problem, very strange.

I noticed this when reading the comments by Paul J. Martinez.

BTW, Paul makes some good points about making sure your site degrades gracefully if you use CSS.

Mac OS X for the Masses. Does Apple's Mac OS X Unix/Aqua blend make a good choice for the home family computer? In my opinion, the Aqua UI masks enough of OS X's Unix underbelly to make it an ideal operating system for even the most inexperienced home computer user. [osOpinion]

For about a year I've had a version of the Jive discussion forums software that runs on top of an XML database. I kept waiting to release it until I finished documenting it and I've just never gotten around to it. Several people have asked for it though, so I just posted the code for download.

This code should work with Xindice as well as dbXML and the XML:DB API reference implementation. It was intended as a proof of concept and demo though so don't complain to me if it doesn't work completely right. :-)

Tom Bradford has posted an experimental XML-RPC based build of Xindice. The build uses Labrador to provide the XML-RPC implementation. This completely replaces the CORBA layer with XML-RPC. If you download it be aware, this is very experimental, and is still missing a lot of pieces.

Dan Shafer on migrating from Mac OS 9 to X.  [Scripting News]

This is such a common theme, old users have numerous problems, complain a lot and stomp their feet about switching to Windows XP. Almost everyone I know who uses and loves OS X didn't even own a Mac six months ago. I wonder how many users Apple is losing vs. how many they're picking up.
