Hackers threat to Formula 1 cars. Silicon.com Feb 27 2002 6:53AM ET [Moreover - Computer security news]

Now this is an interesting twist on the security problem. If there's a chance of people being able to hack this system, then I wouldn't be at all surprised if a desperate team plays a little at that game too. Given the stakes in Formula 1, it would be awfully tempting. They wouldn't even have to do anything truly damaging, just send a minor change that shaves a couple seconds per lap.
