I love Calvin and Hobbes!
The loss of Calvin and Hobbes, The Far Side, and Bloom County, lessened the whole comics industry. Nothing has taken their places. Read today's reprint of a 1991 Calvin & Hobbes cartoon for a taste of what made it so special. These were comics that worked on so many levels. They tickled our funny bones and made us think. The only cartoons that do that are Doonsbury and Non Sequiter. The former has the advantage of using current events as source material, and Non Sequiter has some great moments, and some dull. But at least they make us think...mj
