America abroad one year later...
One year ago, outside of Iraq, the countries of the world united behind America in our sorrow and grief over the events of 911. A year later the picture is very different. We have a President bent on war at all cost, being lead by hawks who have no military background (Cheney & co.), while ignoring the suggestions of Colin Powell. The world is a different place, as I was reminded by some articles that a friend sent to me (thanks, Paul).
My friend is Jewish, and we have had many discussions over the years regarding politics and religion. While we often do not see eye to eye, we continue the dialogue. He is a strong supporter of Isreal, while I am a supporter of a solution that ticks off both sides (the best kind of solutions). Yesterday he sent me some wonderful links that present some diffferent views of what is happening. They make me nervous, and should make you nervous too.
A different picture then the one Bush paints. One year later, are we headed in the right direction?..mj
