Random thoughts...
I'm pretty tied up with school and trying to get my new single life rolling. This morning as I drank my coffee, listened to Vangelis, and read the latest Apple news, an idea germinated. There are a lot of loose pieces running around in my head -- but one idea keeps coming back to me. Where is Apple going?
Jobs announced in Paris a few weeks ago that next year will see Macs that do not boot into Classic. That's fine with me. I am one driver away (film scanner) from not having to ever turn on Classic. We know that Motorola has been dragging the Mac down with slow processor development. Put them together, and what do you get?
OS X on x86 is what I get...think about it...mj

Recording TV shows via PlayStation?
Sony wants console to be all-in-one entertainment hub
Now that its blockbuster game console PlayStation 2 is hooked up to the Internet, Sony Corp. is ready to upgrade the machine further so it can record television shows.
Sony said although the timing and details of the move have not been decided, it is set to make its game console more like a consumer electronics device. [CNN]
Throw in a DVD recorder and you have the ultimate home entertainment hub. Why whould I have to have 2-4 devices, when one will do just fine? MS is heading the same direction -- they want it all running on Windows. Here's hoping they fall short, because we need competition...mj
