AL-TV Deleted Interview
AL-TV Deleted Interview. It's time to give meaning to your boring, miserable life! You probably caught the recent airing of AL-TV on VH1. I was looking forward to it, too - until I realized that my interview was left to die on the cutting room floor. Never fear, faithful few - before the lawyers shut me down, I'm proud to present the lost interview to you. Maybe I'll be funny enough to work with him again at some point in the future? And maybe I'll join a league, enter a tournament, put on a stupid looking shirt, and go bowling instead....

Nimble's V5 mini-PC
Click to hear my thoughts on: Nimble's V5 mini-PC
Nimble's V5 mini-PC.
Nimble Microsystems' new V5 mini-PC seems to be getting some pretty good buzz at the moment (write-ups in PC World, MSNBC, The Register, and even a Slashdotting) but apart from being small, it's not clear why anyone would really want one. The V5 is billed as a "personal video conferencing player," but doesn't include a display or an integrated web cam, and apart from a built-in speakerphone, doesn't appear to do anything that couldn't also be done with a regular PC. And for its list price of $699 you could just get a more full-featured desktop PC from somebody else. Read

Dan Gillmor: Mobile Cameras and the Nature of Snapshots
Dan Gillmor: Mobile Cameras and the Nature of Snapshots. "When you carry a camera around that a) is a one-hand device; b) can send a photo by e-mail in a few clicks; c) takes not-too-terrible pictures; and d) has Bluetooth connectivity to the personal computer -- something has changed in the nature of picture-taking." [evhead]
I like to add a small twist with what I call .... "Snap and Tell"
When you can carry around a camera/audio recorder that 1) Is a one-hand pocket device 2) can send a photo and an audio file to the web in a few clicks 3) has WIFI and/or GSM connectivity to the Web....something changes in the way we communicate.
