Slow day at work means lottsa links here...

NASA cancels space shuttle flights [USA Today : Front Page]

I heard an interview with people on the space station. The Lady astronaut said she planned to be up there about 6 months (as opposed to the 4 months the missions was originally scheduled for).

Well, looks like she was right.

'And It Just Worked'

More and more O'Reilly people are going over to OS X...

Moms Go Linux, And Other Windependence Winners [Slashdot: Index]

The consesus seems to come down to "once I spent some time setting the thing up, it was really nice, since my mom doesn't do more then two things with computers"

I installed OS X on my Mom's computer. Multi-users, everybody has the applications they use on the Dock. (Basically: email, web, and icq)

Yes, I spent some time setting everything up. But it was worth it. (and probably an hour of that was setting her up with GPG and GPGMail)

I don't hear any complaints anymore of "where did it save my document?". She loves it.

And, unlike Linux, Mac OS X is pretty main-stream. If she needs help right then she can pick up the phone and call the local Apple VAR if she can't get a-hold of me (hi Matt). She can't do that with linux, especially in our (very small) town.
