"Eric Albert outlines a very reasonable plan for political action re Internet users' rights and the Berman bill." [Scripting News]

I met Eric at MacHack. (I liked the fact that everybody had nametags, so you could find the people you "knew")

Wanna find our more about Dave's plans and interest in this area? Read from about 09/18/2002 (or so) until... well, probably September 2002. I'm all for him -- I'm getting to the point where I think "We" need to push back.

More Switch Parodies

There's a lot of fun one's in there. Like : boxers/switch, and vi/switch, and even python/switch

And then, there's the perl.com/switch guy, that goes something like:

"I was a Python programmer. Then my spacebar broke. Then my tab key, so I had to get a new scripting language.... so I learnt perl... it's nice getting to use every key on the keyboard"

Swedish Mother's Company Changes the Diaper. Marlene Sandberg, pursuing her dream of becoming a diaper entrepreneur, developed a diaper that is environmentally friendly, but also absorbent. By Sarah Lyall. [New York Times: Science]

Think Python [Slashdot]

A CopyLeft book. (it's got a Dead Tree version Out There, but you can read it for free)

Sun to push StarOffice for Mac OS X [The Macintosh News Network]

Good. It seems every time I hear someone talk about switching costs, software cost always come up (read: for Office... being that that's the piece of software the majority of my Buisness Major collegues use).

(Even in my own report on the topic, I mentioned it. Of course, I forgot to mention the traditionally lower maintaince costs of a Mac vs a PC... just thought of it right now, actually. grr)

Maybe this will get more people to Switch

w00t.. the iMac is back up, again.

When your CD-ROM drive is borked, every little thing (like doing a DiskWarrior check on your startup volume) is really hard

Disassemble the iMac, move the hard drive over to another machine, run DiskWarrior from there... move it back.

(note: i didn't know that the drive NEEDED diskWarrior until I tried to install OS X on the drive, and my startup partition didn't show up in the list!)
