From I-Thought-She-Looked-Familar Dept:

Jorja Fox

I saw Memento and wondered where I had seen the wife (Catherine Shelby). Now I know, thanks to IMDB

From the I'm-Back-For-Now Dept:

Had a lot of work to do for the past week, was working nights and all that jazz. So no time to update.

I hope to be back on a better schedule in a few weeks...

From the Above-And-Beyond Dept:

Benford on Space Exploration
gid-goo writes "Gregory Benford looks at what we should do in the aftermath of the Columbia accident.... [Slashdot]

I'm actually a big fan of designing (and building) spaceships for space (ie: they never come down to Earth). This might solve a lot of problems, as well as force certain issues to the forefront (putting lots more people on a station for longer amounts of time, for example).

How do we get up there in the first place? A Space Elevator. Or a transporter.

From the Not-Such-A-Private-Network-Is-It? Dept:

On the Internet, everyone knows you're John Lott" [kuro5hin.org]

Remember, you are your IP address. Wear it well.

From the Both-Ways Dept:

DVD Rot? [kuro5hin]

And you must read this comment.

We've been told all these years that we license the intellectual property in the disk, we don't buy the disk itself. Well, I guess we umm... buy both.

From the Second-Time-Around Dept:

Patriot Act II
[Mike Cohen's Weblog]

Or from the Legalese-To-Read Dept

From the ssssssssssssssssssssssssssss... dept:

635 Year Long composition Starts

This is, of course, assuming that the organ lasts that long.
