From the Personal Dept: Yeah!!! Bought an Airport Base Station from Autograph Systems today. Went home, set it up, and now I have a real router! (And that's cool 'cause now I can play with Rendevous! (sp)) And yes, it's wild being able to surf from the couch. Or outside (although I haven't tried that yet). |
From the Hmmm Dept Erik J. Barzeski on Where The Sidewalk Ends i also saw this at the Music Store, and I was surprised that the feature poem (unsurprisingly: Where the Sidewalk Ends) was not availiable. I think I read that poem (or a part of it) at my high school graduation. (Small school, so we all got to make speeches) |
From the License-To... Dept: Creative Commons Licenses And Warranties I've though about using a Creative Commons License for my wiki. In one way, I think a CC License makes more sense on a wiki then a blog (community created information vs personally created) - on the other hand, the opinions and work done by the bloggers is often very useful work. Your blog is free for others to read and learn from it, so license your content (and it protects you as well). At any rate, the CC Comics do a nice job of explaining these things. And it is nice to have a license that can be whatever you want it to be. Update: Cory Doctorow on Creative Commons is a fasinating read as well. |
From The Micropayments Dept: Rentzsch | Credit Card Micropayments Insight on how Apple may be doing this whole Music Store thing. The payment part, anyway. |
From The Changes Dept: Doing a little bit of redesign around here - hope this makes h4ck3r+=boi a better reading experience. It never rains but it pours. |
From the Learning-New-Things-Part-0 Dept: MacDevCenter | Objective-C: Dynamite An article focusing on how Objective-C's typeing rules (strong typing optional) are different from C++s (weak typing not encouraged, and downright complex sometimes).
