From The Sooo-Behind Dept:
Got back from my vacation/graduation Saturday..that was lots of fun, (whooohoo!). Put in a bit of work into my MacHack wxWindows paper/research during the evenings.

The next few days will be fairly active, as I've got lots of articles to point at, like I do. Then it'll be quiet until MacHack (June 18) as I prepare.

I'm planning on blogging that conference as well - you'll probably see some slides of something of the presentations I'm attending (and, of course, of the one I'm giving).

So now, the news....

From The For-The-MIS-Folks Dept:
ComputerWorld | The True Cost Of Software

Boring, unless you happen to be (or were) an MIS major.

From the Primer Dept:
MacDevCenter | DNS Primer

A very introductory article on DNS.

The Network Utility application is a nice front end to all those unix tools, I'll admit

From The Shhhhh Dept:
Doing It With OpenSSH (p1).

The basics of SSH (what you should be using, instead of telnet.

From The Only-Video-Killed-The-Radio-Star?
kuro5hin | Consolidation of Radio in America

Interesting stuff - quotes a few DJs of the late '70s era, and provides interesting perspective in the current mess.

From The Innovat0rz Dept:
Tim O'Reilly talks about Apple as an innovator

Apple has the guts it takes to Get Stuff done. USB, Airport, Firewire - I doubt these would be as standarized as they are now without Apple's Big Push (ala: the iMac and iBook lines, back in the day).

From The More-CVS-Rants Dept:
Dear CVS,

When I'm removing a file from the repository, why do I have to transfer all of it back to you?

Gahh!

From The Major-Geek Dept:
Kuro5hin | What is wrong with C++ templates?

Interesting, if very geeky, perspectives.
