Steve, It would be great if you could blog this conference...
Planning to blog PHPCon? Are you planning to blog PHPCon later this week? If so, let me know. I'm trying to get some sort of TrackBack site or something setup to aggregate the discussion. I'll likely link it on the PHPCon web site too....

I'm just now trying out Archipalego 2.0, a new weblog editor app. Getting set up was a bit of a pain, but I must admit that I haven't thought much about how to improve that process. Setting up an editor is a once in a while event, so maybe it doesn't need to be easy.

Already, I'm not impressed. Sure, I can appreciate the work involved to write an GUI application, and I bet that all the features here are useful to the guy who wrote them. But once again, it looks like an app for editing individual posts, and there's no "site maintainance" feature.

What do I mean by site maintainance? I want to see ALL my posts and be able to edit any one of them (for example, add or change a channel property). I want to manage my journal as a whole, not just feed posts one at a time into a black box that may or may not display what I want.

Another thing, why can't I drag and drop multimedia into an editor? Pictures, movies!

I'm beginning to think that bloxsom is the way to go... file based, let's me manage individual posts with whatever editors I choose, can synchronize my powerbook with a server, so posts can be asynchronous...
