Hey SteveC, Jeremy Zawondny has a nice set of wrap-up notes on PHPCon...

Hey SteveZ, here's another open-source PIM, that may have pre-emted Mitche's announcement. This one is java based, and centers around the idea of organizing information into spaces... sound familiar?

I've been thinking about the notion of creating blogs for "characters" fictitious, or nonreal, characters who blog about current or past events. Like an actor playing a character on TV, a blog actor would portray a character in the blogosphere.

Of course, no idea is ever unique, it's just a matter of who gives the meme momentum first. MSNBC's Living in the Blog-osphere mentions a Julius Caesar blog... after a bit of google mining, we find it at Bloggus Caesari. Awesome!

A little more google mining turns up Impersonation blogs, which documents the various character blogs being found in the blogosphere.

Some really good resources for weblogs here. I wish their blogs were published in RSS, otherwise I'm not likely to keep up with their bloggers.

Is it me, or are there a proliferation of blogging sites popping up? Just found diary-x.com and it looks like the same business model as Blogger.com: free services to get you hooked, and premium services to make it profitable. As I'm purusing their demo site, it looks like they're paying attention to the needs of the marketplace, with features like good blog entry management, and lots and lots of options.

I smell another 'roundup ahead...

Hey Steve, check out this PHP/MySQL blogging app called b2.
10:01:36 AM

...All sorts of first-generation PC business pioneers are now focused on weblogs: Dan Bricklin (Visicalc), Dave Winer (More), Mitch Kapor (Notes)

i'm still playing catch-up with the pioneers!

What kind of blogger are you?
