I got to play with a Sony CLIE this morning, and was very impressed..

The color screen looks great, and the flash animations make the GUI very slick. The thumb wheel is a natural input device, but I didn't type on the keyboard too much. I can imagine carrying a photo album around with me on a device like this, but I don't imagine using it to play MP3s (just how big a memory stick do they make anyway?). A WiFi card would be interesting, but for a mobile device, I think I'd prefer wider coverage, ala the Danger HipTop.

Gosh, so many choices...

I just posted a short story detailing my experiences with the Canon Elura 40MC. Basically, the motor noise is picked up by the built-in microphone, so I bought a condenser mic and now I'm trying to find a part that will let me mount the mic in front of the camera. Read all the gory details inside, including pictures! :-)

?Where is Kai Krause? What is he doing? He is in Byteburg, Germany. (I thought that was a made up name.)

Here is the skinny by Macuarium's Ripo (in Spanish, in Googled English):

He may be working on collaborative blogging, focusing on usability for writers.

See also the Swiss NZZ Online article (Google translates Kai Krause as "dock ruffle") for more detail.

Kai is one of my design heroes, a pioneer in direct manipulation of things on screen. Knowing Kai and friends are playing with word processing, something so fundamental and universal, makes my toes tingle with delight.

Dang, Kai is working on blogging tools... they will look great! But will they actually solve my problems?

Noel Jackson is working on a PHP script that converts an RSS feed into an iCal feed, so that he can read various blogs on his iPod (via iSync). Could this be done with an XSTL file, which would remove the language-depency?
