Riding a Segway I heard rumor that Macromedia bought a Segway, and sure enough, it just showed up in the Redwood Shores office today after the main SF office had it for several months. It seems we’ve beaten the crap out of it, so it’s a little off-balance when no one is on it, and moves forward of its own accord ;-) ![]() I just rode it a bit, kinda fun, kinda tricky. Turning isn’t what I expected, it’s like a throttle control on a bike, twisting turns the unit left or right. Trying to stop or go back is a little difficult, as you must lean back. Reminds me of learning to ski. I can’t see a practical use for it in our offices, but I could definitely see it at a large facility with wider travel spaces (warehouses, airport ground facilities). Now that’s I’ve ridden one, I’m not sure how well it would work on a busy pedestrian walkway. 10:58:27 AM ![]()       |
