2004 Presidential Election

Here's an article from ABC News about a recent Epic-MRA poll showing Dean leading in Michigan in the race for the Democratic nomination for president. NHPrimary.com is citing an American Research Group has Dean over Kerrey in New Hampshire.

Here's the NHPrimary.com coverage of last night's DNC debate.

Daily Kos: "That netroots effort was a thing of beauty, straight out of the Dean playbook."

Denver November 2003 Election

I missed this opinion piece from Susan Barnes-Gelt about School Issues 3A and 3B from Wednesday's Denver Post [October 8, 2003, "Teachers need refresher course in fairness"]. Says Barnes-Gelt, "A modest increase in property tax - $48 a year on a $251,000 home - will raise $20 million. Referred Issue 3A will fund art and music in every elementary school; expand all-day kindergarten and early childhood education; upgrade shamefully outdated textbooks and increase resources for underperforming schools. With no increase in property taxes, 3B - a $310.8 million bond issue - will build two new K-8 schools in northeast Denver; acquire land for a future Stapleton High School; build two new charter schools; add classrooms to two southwest Denver elementary schools; renovate 71 schools; address critical maintenance and upgrade security and safety in 128 aging DPS buildings. Seems like a lot of bang for the buck."

Here's an analysis piece about the latest ad from proponents of Amendment 33 from the Rocky Mountain New [October 10, 2003, "AdWatch: Gambling ad fights back"]. From the article, "The pro-Amendment 33 television ad, called Answers 2, is a response to opponents' initial round of attacks. It tries to solidify the opponents' image as nothing more than self-interested mountain casino moguls guarding their own substantial pockets by tarring local business figures who want to promote good, healthy tourism."

Here's today's The Stump from the Rocky Mountain News.
