Aurora water officials are touting their new plan for water conservation, according to the Rocky Mountain News [March 24, 2004, "Aurora backs new water-saving plan"]. From the article, "The plan lays out the restrictions and pricing scenarios under four levels of drought: moderate, severe, extreme and exceptional. The severity of drought will be determined by the council on April 12, based on snowpack and reservoir levels."
Here's the coverage from the Denver Post [March 24, 2004, "Aurora water rates to surge"]. From the article, "Aurora residents could see their water rates double this summer merely by using the same amount of water they did in 2000, as city leaders try to restrict lawn watering this summer. Denver Water, meanwhile, appears headed toward some lawn- watering restrictions as well, the result of the ongoing drought, below-average snowfall this winter and a record dry spell this month. The severity of the restrictions for Denver Water's 1.2 million customers will be hammered out at a workshop Thursday and voted on by the utility's board next month."
