Lobbyist Freda Poundstone is pushing a ballot issue to protect homeowners against negligence on the part of homebuilders, according to the Rocky Mountain News [June 9, 2004, "Builders on notice"]. From the article, "The petitions call for a November ballot issue that she says will restore the rights of home buyers to sue when builders have taken their cash and run, leaving them with homes badly in need of repair...She said a bill signed into law by Gov. Bill Owens in 2003 leaves home buyers helpless in fighting shoddy workmanship."
