Denver November 2004 Election
The Rocky Mountain News editorial staff is endorsing Michael Carrigan and Jennifer Mello for C.U. Regents in 1st Congressional District and At-large [October 5, 2004, "Mello, Carrigan for regents"].
Congratulations to everyone responsible for registering record numbers of new voters. Here's an article from the Denver Post with some of the details [October 5, 2004, "Racing for a poll position"]. From the article, "Election officials up and down the Front Range and on the Western Slope have hired temporary workers and toiled overtime to prepare for the last-minute rush, but they still had their hands full. In several counties, voters were registering at a rate of 1,500 to 2,000 people per day in recent days."
