Denver November 2004 Election
You can still vote early through Friday. Vote early and vote often.
From the Rocky Mountain News: "Ken Salazar and Pete Coors have agreed to one final debate which will be televised on CBS 4 on Oct. 29 at 6 p.m. News 4 anchors Jim Benemann, Bill Stuart and Molly Hughes will host. KBDI's political analyst Aaron Harber and a political reporter from the Rocky Mountain News will serve as panelists in the debate, which will be re-broadcast later that evening, at 9 p.m., on KBDI. CBS 4, Denver."
The Denver Post editorial staff analyzes the disparate polls this year in today's issue [October 26, 2004, "Polls changeable as the weather"]. They write, "In the last week or so, we've seen six polls on the U.S. Senate race between Ken Salazar and Pete Coors, one showing the candidates even, two with Coors ahead, and three showing Salazar in the lead. There have been even more on the presidential contest with the same dizzying results."
Here's an article from the Rocky Mountain News about evangelical christians and their effect on the elction [October 26, 2004, "God and country: Group has mighty voice"]. From the article, "On election night, Debbie Brown and her husband, Bret, will be mingling with a festive crowd at a hotel ballroom in Englewood. Gil and Grace Caldwell will be readying champagne flutes in their Park Hill living room. But celebration will mean different things to these two devout evangelical Christian families: the Browns are rooting for George Bush's re-election, while the Caldwells' toast of (nonalcoholic) bubbly hangs on a John Kerry victory."
