Denver November 2004 Election

Here's an article from the Rocky Mountain News about provisional ballots [November 16, 2004, "Provisional votes tallied"]. From the article, "From 76 percent to 85.5 percent of the provisional ballots cast in the metro area on Election Day will count, according to preliminary tallies. Election officials had until midnight Monday to count their provisional ballots. Clerks in six of the seven metro counties said that most of the ballots were verified...Denver officials were still counting late Monday. The city had the largest number of provisional ballots, more than 10,000. The number counted ranged from 76 percent in Adams County to 85.5 percent in Douglas County. In all, about 33,000 provisional ballots were cast in the seven-county metro area this election. Two years ago, the seven counties ruled that 91 percent of the 18,800 provisional ballots were valid...In Colorado, 50,584 provisional ballots were cast, according to the secretary of state's office. That compares with the 27,366 that were cast in the 2002 general election."
