Radio UserLand : The XML Coffee Mug -- It's Official!: "Here's how to get your own XML Coffee Mug on your Radio weblog." In case this link has eluded you too.  9:57:31 PM  permalink

Amazing how long it took me to find the information on how to add the XML logo to ODB. With Radio 8, it seems important to make it easy for readers to subscribe to the feed.

Skip's Guide to Radio and Manila : Add XML logo to pages: "Use the following code to place the  logo on directory pages to identify them as having an OPML file format. The logo will contain the URL of the OPML file that visitors can use to link to your directory. "

Now I've heard there was a secret chord
That David played, and it pleased the Lord
But you don't really care for music, do you?
It goes like this
The fourth, the fifth
The minor fall, the major lift
The baffled king composing Hallelujah

Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
...Leonard Cohen [Jumpgate Alwin]

Alwin points to this beautiful song by Leonard Cohen. A few years ago, I found a biography of Cohen in a coop lending library. First a poet, then a singer songwriter. Actually, if you buy one of his albums, you'd realize that instantly. I've got a playlist with three versions of Hallelujah on it. FIrst is Cohen's. Then is John Cale's. Cale rearranged the lyrics and turned it into the haunting song that we know. That many know from the movie "Shrek". Oddly, the movie features Cale's version, the soundtrack is Rufus Wainwright.

What's up there? Copromotion of label artists by media conglomerate vs. Dreamwork's artistic conception?  7:41:26 AM  permalink
