The city of Chicago is reading a book. Jonathan Goldstein says "It's one of the more endearing qualities of this project, the hopeful way it asks us to think anew about the role of reading in our lives." I agree, but how can a city read? It's a funny thing when we personify huge, amorphous entities (like cities... or corporations). But I suppose this is just metonymy in action. Whatever. Chicago was reading To Kill A MockingBird, but they're now picking something new. Will it be something by Illinois native Dave Eggers?  9:21:29 AM
