X-printing: If you use OS X, you may have experienced some, um, "printing issues." I have. The worst issue is, well, somtimes printing just sort of... stops. Today I changed the ink cartridge on my Lexmark Z53 (I wouldn't really recommend it, if you're in the market for a printer), and that simple procedure killed printing. After the switch, every print job crashed the PrintJobMgr and ended with a failure -- "delete job"? -- in the Print Center. Great. After lots of rigamarole -- mostly time spent searching Lexmark's site for a simple phone number or tech-support email address -- I finally called Lexmark. After almost zero wait time, they had the solution:
- Use the Lexmark uninstaller to, well, uninstall everything.
- Log out, then log back in.
- Re-install the Lexmark drivers.
- Celebrate being back in printing business!
Now, that's all fine and simple and well and good. But why did it take three hours!?!? 12:35:54 PM
