Janis Ian On Music File Sharing For The Good of Artists

I finally had some time to really read the Janis Ian essay. Fucking brilliant. Isn't it amazing, how much money is being spent, legislation written and passed, technology forced to fruition in failed attempt after another to destroy the internet's capability to be exactly what the music industry needs: The Biggest Friggin' Free Radio Station ever. iRock included. [Adam Curry: Adam Curry's Weblog]

Coincidence that Adam should be talking this thing this morning (local news aggregator time, that it)...I read it also this morning and it was pretty good (thanks to Doc and Dave for pointing the way).

We really need to listen to artists on this one. They are what the music (and business) is about. If they say they aren't getting what's their's, then we should see what solutions they offer. Janis' sounds pretty sound (and Capo Greene slithers away snakily).

I've been reading too much Suess lately.

I'm also following Adams lead on BlogToaster, with this post being my first after having it watch this blog for updates. I should get an IM message. Let's see.
