Why does the religion crazed leader of the enemy still appear on television more than three years after our president said he would deliver him "dead or alive"? The war against bin Laden's army seems to have been back-burnered, while the president took our defenses to engage in a battle of vendetta against an individual who had threatened to kill the president's father when he visited Kuwait twelve years ago. (Of course the huge business interest, as well as support by idealogues helped!) Now the vendetta has been won, and the contracts awarded, but our intervention into Iraq is diverting us from defending against the our real enemy, killing nearly twelve hundred US soldiers and up to 100,000 civilians in the process. Although we have captured or killed a few hundred of the enemy in Afghanistan, their leader and their soldiers hidden around the world continue to fight.
Why Mr. President?
Tuesday's choice is becomming simpler. A Commander-in-Chief who has been at war will surely do better at at winning a war than one who has only 'played army'.
