Mike Deem: What battles do I choose to fight?  The best battles are the ones never fought.  Seek to seize opportunity instead.  That's why I suggested you ask why.  Not to immediately challenge, but to understand.  To better recognize the opportunity when it comes your way.

If you are like most of us, you get spam.  My point?  There are many, many more opportunities out there than there are hours in the day.  So don't regret the ones that you chose to pass on, and make the ones you do take advantage of count.

And, when possible, create opportunities.  Think of how we first met.  I created an opportunity for friend and foe alike to work together on building bridges.
