Where is the American Pim Fortuyn?
[From The Corner]ASSIMILATED? HARDLY:[Rod Dreher] Very important piece today by Linda Chavez. She's rightly appalled by the recent comments by third- and fourth-generation Palestinian Americans, which were aired on NPR. The reporter went to the DC suburbs to talk to Palestinian youths, and found that they were totally behind the genocide bombers (said one: "It doesn't matter who dies, just as long as they're Israeli.") Chavez writes, "They express a contempt for the rule of law and an allegiance to an extremist, foreign ideology that is antithetical to American values. And they are a reflection of our new multicultural America, where young people are taught that one's allegiance to one's ethnic group takes precedence over allegiance to the United States or adherence to democratic values. These young people may have been born in the United States, but they are Palestinians first and foremost." Where is the American Pim Fortuyn, a politician willing to confront the Islamofascists in our midst?

Nine Wars Too Many. The biggest problem in resolving the Arab-Israeli conflict is that there are at least 10 different wars being fought over Israel-Palestine, and we need to reduce them to just one to have any chance of making peace. By Thomas L. Friedman. [New York Times: Opinion]

My California Adventure, Part II
My trip to California in August is pretty much set. I fly on August 14 from Caracas to San Francisco Via Dallas, I plan to spend 8 days in SF with several day trips (to Napa, Berkeley and others), then I go 3 days to Santa Cruz, one or two in Carmel, one in San Luis Obispo and two in Santa Barabara, then I head to Anaheim and my kids part of the trip, they'll enjoy it all but this is going to be their favorite. I plan to spend 9 days in Anaheim with visits to Los Angeles and San Diego...
Thanks all for your advice, help and suggestions and remember... It's not too late, keep them coming!
