What to do about Spam. Dealing with junk email (spam) is a lot like trying to cure cancer. It is not one disease, but more like hundreds of diseases that require hundreds of different remedies. By Matt Woodward. [Ars Technica] Spam is not a big problem, it's just a hard decision how much you want to do about it. It would be easy to get rid of Spam if the powers that be decided to do so, instead they are figuring out how to make a buck (clue: is not by disappearing Spam). I have zero Spam problems, the reason is that the amount of Spam that makes it to my Inbox has been reduced to a couple of messages a day and that is less than 5% of the email I receive, it is easy to get rid of it. If it were a virus even that couple of messages would be a problem... but they aren't (just hit delete). The rest of my Spam gets filtered by Mailblocks (for the most offending accounts) and Apple Mail Spam filter. It is certainly not like curing cancer... not by a long shot.
