Sam Ruby: "REST is much more akin to relational databases than distributed objects."  Hmmm... or perhaps we should word this as "REST is much more akin to hypermedia publication systems than distributed objects".  Whoa, wait a second, I just saw that the doctorate paper discusses hypermedia systems.  Wow, what a coincidence.  Do you think that means something?  Wait a second, I guess perhaps this is also why the WSTK Common Data Service looks like REST.  Hmm...
