Dan Gilmore: The 9 States are outgunned in their battle with Microsoft. Yes Dan, no kidden! Nice of you to mention it. Whatever happened to the Federal case? Did that ever go anywhere? Anyways I would like welcome all readers to the US of M. I know it sounds hypocritical considering I make a living off .NET. So I'm a hypocrit - get over it. It could be a lot worse - I could be a lawyer for the Feds or some judge that doesn't know a RAM from a RAM. It's the USofM, you might as well stop the denial and BOGU. Anyway's the non action by the Feds and this current court will give a few folks I know of a new lease on life by joining Sub-Commander Gosling and the Java Resistance Brigade. (Hey that sounds like a good blog title)

Trivia: The Osbournes (MTV)
Life is so very odd. Ozzy has been a part of my life since I was approximately 12 years old and first heard Black Sabbath's "Paranoid". Yes, he does make the kind of music that a lot of teenage boys respond to, but growing up in East Germany Black Sabbath represented more of an anti-communist rebellion thing. Well, there is that, but they also made great music. So here we are thirty years later and ol' Ozzy got himself the biggest hit show on MTV. I saw parts of it interwoven with one of his music video's and absolutely cracked up. Not bad for an almost 60 year old burglar from England I must say. I met him once during one of the many low points in his life (I swear the poor guy is manic-depressive). And this being Los Angeles, regular folks like myself meet all sorts of celeb's. I mostly felt sorry for old Ozzy when I ran into him at Melrose and Fairfax in 1990. Glad to see he's come around and seems to be doing a lot better now. Still, I wouldn't want to be in his shoes - would you?

LA Times: Dale Bruner, my bible teacher, rated a full page article this weekend. As usual, the on-line version is lacking the atmosphere provided by pictures. Nonetheless I'm proud of Dale. He is one of the foremost theologians in the country and is presently writing a commentary on Matthew. He and his wife Kathy are the sweetest, funniest people you'd ever meet.
