Radio stations now allowed to stream
Well, okay, there was nothing preventing them from streaming before,
but ASCAP (which represents most big American music publishers) has
penned a deal
that will allow radio stations to
simultaneously play music over the Internet that they already play over
airwaves. This has kept a lot off the Internet air to date and
should open the doors for radio stations to stream
their feeds over the Internet without additional costs or licensing
issues. The agreement is good through 2009. [via Engadget]
