TDR Interview: Geoffrey Cook
Geoffrey Cook is the author of Postscript (Signal 2004), a first book of poems that has recently been shortlisted for the 2005 Gerald Lampert Memorial Award. Cook was born in Wolfville, Nova Scotia, and currently teaches in the English Department of John Abbott College in Montreal. He is a past poetry editor of The Danforth Review and a regular contributor to Books in Canada. Jennifer Varkonyi interviewed him via email in April 2005.

Wil Shipley compiles the Delicious Library on Xcode 2.1

Wil Shipley:"It turns out all Apple has ready now are prototype machines, which are in plentiful supply here at WWDC. So, we went into their lab, opened up our source code for Delicious Library, clicked on the "compile for 10.4 only" option, and compiled our program for Intel processors. "

News: WWDC: Developers unfazed by Intel switch

Monday morning’s announcement that Apple was switching to Intel processors had all the makings of a rude awakening for Mac developers. But the developers we’ve talked to have taken the news in stride, with many predicting a smooth transition.

This kind of reaction is what I'm reading everywhere. It's very important since the main concern about the Apple to Intel switch was that developers might not buy in.

10.4: Speed up Spotlight searches via paste

You can dramatically speed up searched via Find or Spotlight by simply pasting the search into the field -- in this way, only the full text string is searched, not each individual letter as it's typed.

FileMaker has released a Dashboard Widget and Actions for Apple's Automator at this week's WWDC.
