It was nice to have Maki back after her being gone for two weeks. She said she has been really busy. Rie posted a comment to last week's post and said she has had business trips to Sapporo and can't make it to class. Hopefully, she can come to some of the end of term events.
The homework was to write a movie review and Chiaki wrote a good one about The Last Samurai. I should of asked her to send it to me by e-mail so that I could post it or she could type it into the comments section.
We started the unit on friends (not the TV show) and people found some of the questions hard to answer. I mentioned the article about >Urban Tribes. It may be a little difficult, but just scan it and see what you can get out of it.
The homework for next week is to practice reading one of the poems out loud. Also answer the questions in the second reading section and do the Vocabulary in context section. Please add a comment 10:25:04 AM
My Weekend
On Saturday morning I helped one of JOY's teachers move to a new apartment. It went pretty smoothly. We had just the right number of people. Sometimes when you have too many people you just get in each others way. After that I went home and did some work around the house. I thought about doing my US taxes, but I think I will do that next week. I know I shouldn't procrastinate, but doing taxes is the last thing I want to do.
On Sunday my wife and I went to the Return of the King. It was good and of course the special effects were amazing, but I thought the battle scenes were all a little too long. If Peter Jackson had made some cuts there would have been time to include a more detailed return to the Shire (people who have read the book will know what I am talking about).
Sunday night I watched an NHK special on Freeta and the problems this may cause. It was interesting. Please add a comment 10:21:34 AM
