5E

I thought I was going to be the only one tonight, but we ended up with three people. Haruko was observing. She is thinking about moving up to Step 5 in April. We talked about St. Patrick's Day and people weren't very familiar with it. I am waiting for the beer companies to latch on to it like the chocolate companies did with Valentine's Day.

We discussed the Ministry of Educations action plan for English education. The source is used was from the The Language Teacher.

A big surprise today! Mai was back from the States. She had a good time, but it was more difficult than she thought. She cried a lot the first month she was there. It sounds like she had a very good host family. During her stay she almost completely gave up smoking!

We did the origami exercise and this class too had trouble making the penguin. I guess they should change it to a crane. A few people tried the English version of the cash machine. Satoko and Kumiko quickly hit the cancel button when the machine started speaking English.

The homework is to do number 1 of the Solo and cut out the cards for the Ensemble.
