I See. Ok. Umm, No. Absolutes are wrong. Usually. [Artima Weblogs] // This is an XP article which I didn't know when I clicked through.   Though it starts out as looking like it is headed towards the usual XP as panacea, it then heads in a better direction.  Bottom line, no planning is no good.

EE Times: The myth of the embedded Linux tools market.  [via Hack the Planet] //  It is not everyday that embedded articles land in my aggregator so I pass this one through.  It is an interesting read having been out of the embedded environment for some time and then recently returning for the last few months.  Linux was just a small blip on the embedded horizon the last time I looked at moving to an different RTOS.   I have always been one of the big tools advocates in any environment.  If your engineers have the best tools, they will do their best work.  If they don't and they know it, you best have it in your risk plan cause at some point it will bite you big time.

"So having now secured that future, this ownership group believes it is now time to move on." - Brewers for sale  //  Wow, this and the Pirates, the Expos are continuing to make baseball look very sad.  It is amazing that suddenly the Cubs become competitive and appear willing to spend while the smaller market teams tank.  Whoops, forgot to mention the Chisox.  Next year will be embarassing on the South side of town.

Indian tech firms look to US recovery. The Indian software industry hopes the pick-up in the US economy will cool the backlash against outsourcing work to India. [BBC News | Technology | World Edition//  How about American software engineers hope for a pick-up in the US economy ?  First no one gets jobs, then the Indian companies get some work as the economy picks up a litte and finally when (if ?) the economy heats up there will be work for all ?

It's a tough webcam picture to try work with but just a minor tweak on the brightness and what I saw as a pumpkin on a dark night now shows a person.
