The San Francisco Department of Motor Vehicles office on Fell St. is a bit surreal. The experience of obtaining a California ID card actually wasn't that painful. I had an appointment so the whole process only took about 1/2 hour. You get a little slip of paper with your number on it, and a computerized voice tells you what window to go to when your turn comes.
In other news, my Timeport now crashes on boot. I'm informed that tomorrow we will "Schmoo" the device, to fix it. I don't yet know what that means.
