Paolo Amoroso posted to comp.lang.lisp about an interesting paper by Richard Waters. The paper describes using the Common Lisp pretty printer. As an example it shows how the pretty printer can be used to print a subset of Lisp as Pascal. Interesting reading if you want to find out more about using the pretty printer.

A post on the plt-scheme mailing list raises the 'Is a Cow an Animal' problem. Various solutions are presented with the goal being to implement the listed rules with as many errors being caught at compile time as possible (and ideally, all errors being caught at run time).
