Steven Vore: "Thanks go to both Rick and Alwin. I've listened to Aimee Mann's music but have never seen her, didn't recognise her."
I've heard of her but never listened to any of her songs (until right now, that is). All of the songs from "Lost in Space" are available for listening (choice of Real, WMP, or Flash). Thanks for the link Steven.

They called it an "opt-in" list, even though the message was sent to one of my email addresses that is only used as a contact link on one of my sites - obviously a harvested email address list. Bad DeVry! Bad!

Sometimes we deserve the criticism we get. Whether we grow from it or not is the important question. When one keeps saying inflammatory things about others, publicly demands undue credit for one's accomplishments, and repeatedly insists how important one is, one can expect others to criticize them. It's only human. Wallowing in it all and continuing to defend yourself while going after others just perpetuates the problem. Quit your whining and name calling already.
Update: Yes, I deleted the previous post, to be fair, since you know who you are.
Mary at Dog News: "Somebody got shot dead this morning right outside my spouse's office in Rockville . There are helicopters outside the building now and they've been circling for a while. The sniper (or snipers) is using a white Mitsubishi box-like moving van and has both shotguns and high-powered rifles. ¶ Also, four (4) other people in our area (we live less than a mile from all the shootings) have been randomly shot dead in the last fifteen hours..."

Mixed Feelings. Okay. I hate Gator. I think they are one of the most annoying software companies out there. But I'm not sure I agree with UPS here:Though I agree that I should be able to "run a piece of software on my PC that shows me ads" if I want to, I'm still inclined to agree with UPS' claim in the lawsuit. If a piece of software intentionally targets the advertising based on the web surfers' current web activity, aren't they actually delivering the ads while the surfer is visiting a particular site (i.e. from the site)? Another CNET article ("Publishers sue Gator over pop-ups" dated June 27, 2002) states the following:Gator ships ads to wrong Web site. Shipping company UPS has filed a lawsuit against Gator in the U.S. District Court of Atlanta, charging the online software provider with delivering unauthorized ads to visitors of its Web site. [CNET News.com]When I was a PC user, Gator was always trying to install their software on my system. And at one time I even had their software installed without realizing just how slimy they are. But if I want to run a piece of software on my PC that shows me ads as I'm browsing the web then I should be able to. I haven't seen how Gator's software works, but my guess is they don't indicate when the ads are being served by them...
Also bundled in Gator's software is a program called OfferCompanion, which monitors Web surfing behavior and delivers targeted pop-up ads to viewers. For example, a Web surfer may see an advertisement for Ford Motor--delivered by Gator--while visiting Toyota.com....my feelings aren't as mixed about Gator.
