N.Z. Bear is trying out an anti-spam software that takes an entirely different approach than filters. "Instead, it takes the draconian approach of assuming that anybody you haven't explicitly told it to accept mail from is a potential spammer, who must be stopped." I'm not sure I like the idea based on how I use email to facilitate my sites' visitors communicating with me (both directly and via forms). There's a fair amount of email I receive from strangers that I don't want to block (it's not spam), nor do I want to inconvenience the senders of such email.
I've been using SpamAssassinPro for almost two weeks now and decided to buy it - so far, so good.
