Version changes: Now uses a shell command to verify if iTunes is running. This proved to be much faster than using the built-in AppleScript routine. Main window now contains a resizable split view. The window itself has also become resizable.

The source code illustrates how to set up an AppleScript driven GUI, call a UNIX shell command, create a preferences file, add a custom icon, talk to iTunes, text manipulation, and more.
