I therefore offer several important articles & open letters written by REAL WOMEN WITH NERVES! Today's RHINO'S BOTTOM LINE is by Former GHW Bush HUD assistant secretary Catherine Austin Fitts who has fought many battles for the American people, including having blown the whistle on HUD corruption linked to targeted HUD housing forfeitures undertaken illegally under auspices of the drug war. Now with inside knowledge, she documents points of dishonesty in Condoleezza Rice's recent testimony regarding 911. I also offer insight on Condi via "The Black Commentator" & via an excerpt from the chapter "Sweetness and Light: Condoleezza Rice" from Laura Flanders' new book Bushwomen: Tales of a Cynical Species (Verso Books). Flanders can also be heard weekends on Air America Radio And before all that Condiness comes a letter from vet White House correspondent Helen Thomas to Papa Bush, an open letter to The Anti-war Movement from Pacifica Radio's Sonali Kolhatkar, and another enlightening look at Iraq through the eyes of future Nobel Peace Prize winner (so predicts the Rhino) Kathy Kelly. Rhino sez, "GO GETTUM GIRLS!!!!" Bush Sr. Has Questions To Answer On Iraq by Helen Thomas, Hearst Newspapers, April 9, 2004 Dear Mr. President: I can understand your emotional defense of your son when you spoke to the Petrochemical and Refiners Association in San Antonio last week. You referred to the hurt you feel when you think the current President Bush has been criticized unfairly by the news media. You told the oil executives that you found it "deeply offensive and contemptible" to hear "elites and intellectuals on the campaign trail" dismiss progress in Iraq since last year's overthrow of Saddam Hussein. Well, the "progress" you speak of is not too apparent right now, with thousands of Iraqis and hundreds of Americans dead and thousands wounded on both sides. And there's no end in sight. An Open Letter to Anti-War Activists by Sonali Kolhatkar, CommonDreams.org, April 8, 2004 An Open Letter to Anti-War Activists Afghanistan has been devastated by the U.S. military and neglected by the antiwar movement. I am writing to appeal antiwar activists to seriously incorporate Afghanistan into their work. The U.S.'s war in Afghanistan was clearly fought to maintain imperial credibility after the 9-11 attacks and to provide a stepping stone to Iraq. And yet, I was saddened that activists in the U.S. and other countries did not rise up in significant numbers to resist the Afghanistan war which began on October 7th 2001. While I was heartened with the rising up of millions against the Iraq war in 2003, the situation in Afghanistan continued to be sidelined by activists in the recent demonstrations against occupation on March 20th 2004... The US was threatening another massive bombardment. We decided to go to Fallujah in hopes of better understanding the perspective of people whose marketplace had been bombed, in 1991, by a smart bomb that went astray. The blast instantly killed 150 people and wounded hundreds. By the time of our visit, many more had suffered and died during nearly eight years of brutally punitive economic sanctions. At Fallujah's main market, we began distributing a leaflet about why we were violating the economic sanctions. Throngs of people pressed toward each of us, eager for leaflets. Separated from my companions and surrounded by people shouting at me as they grabbed leaflets, I began to wonder if this could turn into an ugly scene... A Black woman who doesn't know how to talk to Black people is of limited political use to an administration that has few African American allies. ...But Rice is brilliant, we were told. Millions of Black people fervently wished that were true, that Bush's tenure would at least provide an icon or role model or two, as a consolation prize. Then the esteemed Dr. Rice revealed that she is as stupid as anyone in the White House - with the possible exception of George. MORE: http://www.blackcommentator.com/84/84_cover_condi.html

"SEND THIS ARTICLE TO A REPUBLICAN!"
Open Letter to National Security Advisor Condoleeza Rice by Catherine Austin Fitts, 9 April 2004 Dear Ms. Rice: I am writing to communicate four points regarding your testimony yesterday under oath before the National Commission on Terrorist Attacks Upon the United States. Point #1: You are a liar. Attorney General Ashcroft sits on the National Security Council. Warned by his FBI security detail, the head of law enforcement for the United States knew to avoid commercial airlines on September 11, 2001. It was your job as National Security Advisor to make sure that the people who flew on American Airlines Flight 11, United Airlines Flight 175, United Airlines Flight 93 and American Airlines Flight 77 had the benefit of the same warnings as those they paid to protect us. You knew. You kept silent. They died. (MORE...) Point #2: Your motives are transparent. The World Trade Center is in the heart of New York City - one of the great financial capitals of the world. The Pentagon is in the heart of Washington -- the appropriation and accounting capital for the US federal budget and credit and the US Treasury - the largest issuer of securities in the world. Unlike many other terrorist attacks, these attacks killed people whose family, friends and neighbors understand how these financial systems work. Victim families, friends and the residents of the communities directly harmed can calculate who made money on 9-11 profiteering. They can trace the flow of money into the 2004 Presidential campaign coffers from the profits your supporters made as a result of 9-11 profiteering. They can calculate how 9-11 profiteering connects to the financing and silence of corporate media. (MORE...) Point #3: You are going down. The richest and most powerful people in the world pay for performance. They pay you to make the US governmental apparatus look legitimate while they use it to centralize economic and political power. That means they need liars who are better at lying than you. (MORE...) Point #4: You are guilty of criminal gross negligence. If you want to catch a terrorist today, you need look no further than your own mirror. Many Americans gather this weekend to give thanks that Jesus died for our sins and gave us the covenant of grace. In the spirit of our Lord's crucifixion and resurrection, may God have mercy on your soul. Sincerely Yours, Catherine Austin Fitts Former Assistant Secretary of Housing, Bush I READ THE ENTIRE LETTER AT: http://www.globalresearch.ca/articles/FIT404A.html "RHINO'S BLOG" is the responsibility of Gary Rhine.
