Security and Weblogging

I need more security built-in to Radio, RCS, and Manila. Maybe my needs and my clients needs are unique, but I don't think so.

Here's the scenario: Assume that I'm a former employee of a major corporation. I have some serious dirt on my employer and want to go public, but I fear repercussions if they know I'm the one who is posting the info. So, what do I want from weblog software?

1. Secure updating: I want to post new entries using encryption

2. Secure viewing and commenting/discussions: I want others who have similar concerns to be able to read my site, add comments, and participate in discussions without exposing themselves.

3. Encrypted data on my harddrive: I'd like to keep all my local weblog data encrypted like Groove does. Now, this one isn't too hard to do with readily available and pretty easy to use utilities. So, not having it built in isn't too troubling.

4. Public/Private Weblogs: I'd like to run several weblogs, some public and some private. The private ones would still be on the wild and wooly internet, but would require membership by invitation. The invited would have a username and password. Also, points one and two would still be required.

5. Remote Security: I'd like to do this all remotely in the methods that John Robb describes in his Mobile K-Logging post.

Bad news, these features enable weblogs to be utilized for a variety of bad stuff. Oh, well.
